In the world of intelligence, in the pursuit of truth, it is difficult to tell the difference between reality and a reflection of it, an illusion, if you will, as if we were in a “Hall of Mirrors”. Blake, the acronym “OBE” is incorrectly explained as “Overtaken By Events”. In US government agencies, including those in the Intelligence Community and the Department of Defense, the correct/official explanation of the acronym “OBE” is “Overcome By Events”. Former CIA Director of Counterintelligence James Jesus Angleton, also known as the “spy poet”, described the intelligence game as the “Wilderness of Mirrors”, which was a phrase borrowed from a poem by T.S. Eliot called Gerontion (the title is Greek for “little old man”, and the poem is an interior monologue relating the opinions and impressions of an elderly man, who describes post-World War I Europe through the eyes of a man who lived most of his life in the 19th century). In the world of intelligence, in the search for truth, it is difficult to tell the difference between reality and a reflection of it, an illusion, if you will, as if we were in a “Hall of Mirrors”. The highlight of The Agency is Michael Fassbender, a great actor and convincing in his role as a field agent returning home after being undercover for so long.
The soundtrack is good
The acting as a whole I give 8/10. Even the minor characters have done a good job so far (apart from those minor characters trying to be smart). The story is nothing new, but several story lines intertwine, I’m not sure where it would lead even at the end of the 2nd episode. So, it’s a good thing, being unpredictable.
It felt like a good movie
Nice touch with the song -Love is Blindness. You can tell that a good budget was invested in this, of course with movie actors it’s obvious, but even more so due to the locations selected and how some of the action sequences were filmed. I really enjoyed it, but I may be biased, Michael Fassbender is one of my favorite actors. I’m looking forward to the next one.
